EMRA Round 1 · The Open-class baptism

Adam began the 2026 season in the Open class, where the motorcycles are fast and the learning curve has apparently also been tuned.

The first proper race Sunday of 2026 arrived at Mallory Park, and Adam rolled the number 33 Gen 5 ZX-10R into the Open paddock. This was his first season outside the Rookies, which is a polite way of saying the stabilisers had been removed and everyone else appeared to have brought a missile.

Adam · #33

Practice produced a 1:02.864. In race one Adam finished 6th in class, recording a 1:01.499 best lap. Race two brought 12th in class with a 1:01.739. Eight laps in the first race and seven in the second: plenty of useful data, all of it confirming that Open really does mean open.

No trophies were inconvenienced, the bike returned in one piece and the kettle passed scrutineering. A successful opening round by every metric that matters.

Results checked against the published TSL classifications. Humour checked against nobody sensible.
